Montrose Bay High School is a co-educational, comprehensive high school catering for students in Grades 7–10.
The planned site for the main campus of the new Montrose Bay High School is located 15 kilometres north of central Hobart, in southern Tasmania. The school occupies a fantastic site overlooking the Derwent River. With the magnificent kunanyi / Mount Wellington as a backdrop, the school has beautifully landscaped grounds. Recent renovations have seen a major upgrade of the school facilities with state of the art workshops and studio facilities.
The school draws students from the northern suburbs of Hobart and the lower Midlands with a varied intake each year. The enrolment policy sets out admission details. There are currently 680 students and 80 staff (teachers, itinerant and support staff) at the school. The school is organised around a grade structure which provides pastoral care and support.
Big Picture is now also situated on this site.
