Montrose Bay High School is a co-educational, comprehensive high school catering for students in Grades 7–10.
Montrose Bay High School is located 15 kilometres north of central Hobart, in southern Tasmania. The school occupies a fantastic site overlooking the Derwent River. With the magnificent kunanyi / Mount Wellington as a backdrop, the school has beautifully landscaped grounds. Recent renovations have seen a major upgrade of the school facilities with state of the art workshops and studio facilities.
The school draws students from the northern suburbs of Hobart . The enrolment policy sets out admission details. There are currently around 600 students and approx. 100 staff (teachers, itinerant and support staff) at the school. The school is organised around a grade structure which provides pastoral care and support.
