Transition

Transitions are key milestones in a student’s journey. We offer a comprehensive Year 6–7 transition program that includes school visits, orientation days, and family engagement to ensure a smooth start to high school.

Families of students from Years 4-6 from local feeder schools have the opportunity to attend an information evening in Term 2. Year 6 students will then have the opportunity to participate in hands on activities such as Art, HPE and STEM during their Mini Orientation in Term 3. Students requiring additional support or who have identified as having some anxiety around transition, will also have the opportunity for 1-1 tours and small group tours of our school to ensure students feel completely supported in their transition to our school. In term 4, families will have another opportunity to attend an information evening before all students complete the statewide Orientation Day.

The focus of all of our Transition programs is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of what it means to be a student at Montrose Bay High School and how all our practices are connected to the Montrose Mindset.
